A coastal Florida city, Naples, has been named the best place to live in the United States, surpassing Miami. Scholaroo, a nonprofit educational research company, recently released its list of the best U.S. cities to live in for 2023, with Naples claiming the top spot.
The study evaluated 151 American cities based on nine key indicators of happiness and satisfaction, including crime and safety, affordability, economy, quality of life, health care, education, employment, leisure and entertainment, and infrastructure.
Naples excelled in health care, boasting the highest number of hospitals and public schools. It also ranked among the top two cities for bridge safety. However, it’s worth noting that Naples had the highest median home value among the cities examined, making it more suitable for those with higher budgets.
On the other hand, Miami ranked disappointingly low at 124 out of 151 cities. Despite being hailed by Time magazine as one of the best cities in the world last year and recently recognized by Forbes as among the best places to live in the country, Miami fell short in education, affordability, and economy according to Scholaroo’s analysis.
Other Florida cities featured in the rankings include Tampa (14), Melbourne (21), Pensacola (33), Fort Myers (38), and Jacksonville (46).
