AT&T Concludes $1.6 Billion Investment in Pennsylvania

AT&T, one of the leading cellular providers in the United States, has completed a significant $1.6 billion investment in Pennsylvania. This massive investment spans from 2019 to 2023 and encompasses various regions across the Commonwealth, aiming to enhance broadband internet access and strengthen network reliability and capacity.

The investment focuses on improving performance in key areas such as airports and sports arenas, while also expanding 5G coverage to additional regions. The following areas have benefited from AT&T’s investments:

  • Greater Philadelphia: Nearly $850 million investment, including parts of Delaware and New Jersey.
  • Pittsburgh: Nearly $350 million investment.
  • Erie: Almost $20 million investment.
  • Lancaster-Harrisburg-York: Over $35 million investment.
  • Johnstown: More than $10 million investment.
  • Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton: Over $80 million investment, including part of New Jersey.

Additionally, AT&T is extending access to FirstNet, a service designed to connect first responders, by deploying their Band 14 service on over 2,200 sites throughout Pennsylvania. This initiative aims to provide enhanced communication capabilities for first responders in approximately 700 communities across the state.
