Wisconsin Woman Dies in Tragic Snowmobile Accident in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

A Wisconsin woman tragically passed away following a snowmobile accident in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

The 46-year-old from Dodgeville, Wisconsin, crashed into multiple trees after losing control of her snowmobile on a curve while traveling on a trail in Inwood Township last Friday at around 7:20 p.m. Despite her companions’ attempts to revive her with CPR and the efforts of emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michigan State Police from the Manistique Outpost were dispatched to the remote crash location, approximately three miles northwest of Thunder Lake Road on the Haywire Grade Trail.

Snowmobilers assisted by transporting troopers and emergency personnel to the site, where an initial investigation found no signs of alcohol or drug involvement.

Lt. Benjamin Ekola, a Michigan State Police spokesperson, extended condolences to the victim’s family and friends, acknowledging the support from local snowmobilers and emergency services.

The community’s swift response and collaboration highlighted the efforts made to assist the victim before official help could arrive.
