Wisconsin Electors Cast 10 Votes for Trump and Vance in 2024 Election

MADISON, Wis. WMTV – On Tuesday, Wisconsin’s Republican electors officially cast the state’s 10 votes for President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.

“We worked incredibly hard to win Wisconsin for Trump and Vance,” said Brian Schimming, head of Wisconsin’s Republican Party.

Although the general election happened in November, this step is part of the U.S. election process where each state casts its electoral votes, as required by the Constitution.

Wisconsin gets 10 electoral votes—two from its senators and eight from its congressional districts. The state gives all its votes to the candidate who won the most votes in Wisconsin.

“We had thousands of volunteers helping out across the state, Schimming added. This was the biggest volunteer effort we’ve ever organized.

Once all states cast their votes, the results will go to Congress. Lawmakers will meet on January 6 to officially confirm the election.

Former Governor Tommy Thompson, who is also an elector, said, It’s up to us now. We control both Congress and the presidency, and we need to deliver for the American people.
