Virginia Prison Receives Adam Montgomery: NH Department of Corrections Update

CONCORD, N.H. — Adam Montgomery has been moved from the New Hampshire State Prison for Men in Concord to a correctional facility in Virginia, News 9 Investigates has learned.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections online inmate locator now lists him at a “non-NHDOC facility,” but the Virginia Department of Corrections online locator does not yet list Montgomery.

In May, Montgomery was sentenced to 45 years to life for murdering his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony, in 2019. He is also serving two consecutive sentences of 15 to 30 years for unrelated weapons charges.

The reason for Montgomery’s transfer is unknown. However, state law permits a transfer if the Department of Corrections commissioner determines that an inmate cannot be safely kept at their current facility or if the transfer is in the best public interest or serves legitimate penological objectives.
