Virginia Lawmakers Debate Federal Election Rules and Voter Eligibility

Virginia lawmakers are discussing the upcoming federal election and the candidates running for office. Recently, the House passed a bill to ban non-citizens from voting in the November election.

Republican Rep. Morgan Griffith from Virginia emphasized the importance of monitoring both the northern and southern borders to prevent ineligible non-citizens from voting.

“If we don’t verify that everyone registering is a citizen, non-citizens will vote. Despite the law, some people in North Carolina have already been charged for such fraud,” Rep. Griffith said.

Griffith supports voter identification through driver’s licenses and other means.

“The idea is simple: if you’re not a citizen, you shouldn’t vote in federal elections,” Griffith stated.

He mentioned that Democrats need to decide whether to choose a new candidate instead of Biden, but it’s a challenging process under current rules.

“Unless Biden withdraws, their delegates are committed based on the primaries. Anyone trying to replace Biden is essentially trying to overturn an election,” Griffith said.

Democrats have only a few weeks left to make their decision.

Griffith also noted that Ohio is holding a Zoom roll call for the nomination a week before the official event.

Regardless of these issues, Griffith believes Trump will win the election and return to the White House.
