U.S. Marshals Arrest Fugitive Cedric Howell for Sex Crimes in Michigan

The U.S. Marshals Service USMS recently collaborated between the Western District of Tennessee and the Eastern District of Michigan to apprehend Cedric Joseph Howell, a fugitive wanted for sex crimes in Tennessee.

Howell, 39, of Trenton, TN, was charged with rape and incest following an investigation by the Trenton Police Department and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. Arrest warrants were issued on September 12, 2024, and the USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force TRVFTF in Jackson, Tennessee, was called in to assist in locating Howell.

The TRVFTF uncovered that Howell had fled to the Detroit, Michigan area.

Acting on these leads, deputy marshals tracked him to a store parking lot in Pontiac, Michigan, where they successfully apprehended him on September 20.

Howell is now in custody and will be held at a detention facility pending his extradition to Tennessee.
