U.S. Labor Department to Return $2.5 Million in Unpaid Wages to Rhode Island Workers

The U.S. Department of Labor has announced efforts to return more than $2.5 million in recovered wages to 1,521 eligible workers in Rhode Island.

The initiative, managed by the Wage and Hour Division’s Providence office, aims to ensure workers receive the wages they are owed.

To facilitate the process, the department is encouraging individuals to use its Workers Owed Wages WOW online tool.

This resource allows workers to check if they are eligible to claim unpaid wages by entering their current or former employer’s name.

The department emphasizes the importance of reaching all eligible workers and encourages anyone who suspects they may have unclaimed wages to verify their status using the tool.
