Three Men Arrested in Covington Drug Bust: Fentanyl, Cash, and Firearms Seized

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. – Three men were arrested and charged following a drug bust in Covington on Saturday, according to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 13, the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force observed a drug transaction during surveillance. With the help of the Sheriff’s Office, they conducted a traffic stop, resulting in the seizure of one ounce of suspected fentanyl worth $3,000, one gram of Xanax, a handgun, $4,804 in cash, and a 2008 Dodge pickup.

The suspects are:

  • 27-year-old Tristan Crookshanks from West Virginia
  • 28-year-old Ragan Bostic from West Virginia
  • 21-year-old Richard Harris from West Virginia

Charges are as follows:

Crookshanks:

  • Distribution of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug

Bostic:

  • Distribution of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug
  • Possession of a firearm while in possession of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug

Harris:

  • Distribution of a Schedule 1 or 2 drug
  • Possession of a Schedule 4 drug without a prescription
