The cast of The West Wing visited Wisconsin on Saturday to promote early voting for the Harris-Walz campaign, making stops in Waukesha, Milwaukee, and Madison.
Actors Bradley Whitford, Martin Sheen, Dulé Hill, Mary McCormack, and Richard Schiff rallied voters, with Sheen delivering a passionate call to action.
Sheen encouraged voters to get in the game and take part in shaping the nation’s future. He emphasized the urgency of addressing major issues like climate change and gun control, stating, Global warming constitutes a clear and present danger… If that concerns you, get in the game.
On gun laws, he criticized the influence of the gun lobby, urging voters to support regulations aimed at preventing tragedies, saying, Remind the NRA that gun laws are not trying to take the guns away, they’re trying to stop the guns from taking our children away.
Sheen’s remarks also followed his earlier warnings about voter suppression and the rise of MAGA vigilantes during the 2024 election. His activism aligns with his lifelong Democratic values.
The visit comes as polls show a tight race in Wisconsin, with former President Trump holding a narrow 0.3 percentage point lead, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls.
In September, First Lady Jill Biden celebrated The West Wing‘s 25th anniversary at the White House, highlighting the show’s lasting cultural impact.
