Tax Bills are Due Dec. 9

The final tax bills for 2014 were mailed last Friday.

Payment is due by Tuesday, Dec. 9, with payments not made by that date subject to 12 percent interest by New Hampshire law.

Tax  bills are computed using a taxpayer’s current assessed valuation multiplied by the tax rate of $29.14 per $1,000.

Those who disagree with their bill may file for a tax abatement. Appeals must be made in writing, to the Assessor’s Office at 14 Manning St., Derry, and received or postmarked no later than the end of the business day on March 2, 2015.

The back of the bill contains information on elderly exemptions, the Veterans Tax Credit, and Elderly and Disabled deferral programs.

For information about the tax bill, contact the Tax Collector’s office at 432-6106; for information about the assessment, contact the Assessor’s office at 432-6104.
