Supreme Court Keeps RFK Jr. on Ballot in Wisconsin and Michigan: Impact on 2024 Election

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to keep Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on the ballot in both Wisconsin and Michigan has implications for the 2024 election landscape, especially in these key swing states.

The Court’s denial of Kennedy’s request to withdraw his name from these ballots could potentially shift voter dynamics, potentially favoring Democratic candidates, according to Kennedy’s own polling analysis.

The legal decision, issued without further explanation—standard practice for emergency rulings—came despite Kennedy’s recent endorsement of Donald Trump. Justice Neil Gorsuch dissented in the Michigan case, suggesting he may have supported Kennedy’s request to withdraw.

This marks the end of Kennedy’s efforts to exit the race in battleground states, following his successful removal in Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, and Texas.

Kennedy, once a Democratic candidate, initially ran as an Independent but later backed Trump after withdrawing from the race.

The endorsement led to Trump’s public praise of Kennedy, and Trump has even hinted at a potential role for Kennedy, a well-known vaccine skeptic, in his administration should he win reelection.

This unusual alliance reflects the fluid political landscape, as alliances and endorsements among former rivals continue to shape the election’s dynamics.
