Sugar Plum Fair Returns to First Parish Church in Derry

The long-standing Sugar Plum Fair returned to the First Parish Church in East Derry on Saturday, Nov. 20, for the 77th time. The fair was cancelled last year to the pandemic, and this year’s event also had some annual activities cancelled, but there were plenty of vendors selling holiday items. Church volunteers had made a number of glass sculptures for attendees to purchase and there were a wide variety of gift baskets being raffled off. The popular cookie walk offered a huge selection of delicious home-baked treats. The church is still going through a huge restoration project, but the exterior and connector building, for the most part, were finished up over the summer. Interior projects like the clock re-start, Sanctuary renovations and the basement restoration are expected over the next year. Photos by Chris Paul
