Shane Curry, 20, Faces First-Degree Murder Charge in Stow Case

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Stow Chief of Police Michael Sallese have announced that Shane Curry, 20, of Stow, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, 17-year-old Nevaeh Goddard. The incident occurred in Stow on April 5, 2024.

Curry was initially arraigned in Concord District Court on April 6 on charges of assault and battery on a household or family member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. He was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. These charges were later upgraded to murder.

On Wednesday, Curry was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court, where Judge Patrick Haggan ordered him held without bail.

On April 5, Stow Police responded to a request for a well-being check at Curry’s home. They found Nevaeh in Curry’s bedroom with visible injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Curry is accused of stabbing Nevaeh during a physical altercation.

Family members reported that Goddard was missing from Rhode Island at the time of her death.

The case is being prosecuted by Katharine Folger and Jacqueline McCormick, with Victim Witness Advocate Renee Leone assisting.
