Expensive watches, tailored suits, and guns taken from former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel will be auctioned to help pay back the money he owes.
Freije & Freije Auctions recently collected these items from the Indiana State Police and listed them for their annual New Year’s Day auction. The collection includes clothing, shoes, belts, guns, and Rolex watches, now available for bidding on the auction website.
Noel owes $3.1 million in restitution after pleading guilty to 27 felonies, including fraud and theft. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison in October. The money raised from the auction will be divided among several organizations:
- $2.87 million to the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association (New Chapel EMS)
- $173,155 to the Indiana Department of Revenue
- $61,190 to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department
- $35,245 to Indiana State Police
TJ Freije, the auction company’s president, said, “We want to do what’s right for Indiana taxpayers and the people of Clark County.”
The auction will start at 10 a.m. on New Year’s Day at 2340 W US HWY 40, Clayton, Indiana. People can also pre-bid or bid online, with starting bids at $5. Items related to Noel are clearly labeled as being seized during the investigation.
Noel’s car collection, however, won’t be included in the sale. Some other property is still tied up in legal issues involving his estranged wife, Misty, and daughter, Kasey, so it can’t be auctioned yet.
