Search Efforts End in Tragedy: 22-Year-Old s Body Found in Ohio River

The tragic death of Hunter Conner, a 22-year-old man from Newburgh, Indiana, serves as a somber reminder of the importance of water safety.

Conner’s body was found in the Ohio River on January 19, two days after he went missing when his kayak capsized while retrieving a duck during a waterfowl hunting trip.

The incident, which occurred about a mile east of the Grandview Boat Ramp, remains under investigation by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

The search efforts, carried out by local authorities and divers, lasted for two days.

Indiana Conservation Officers are urging the public to prioritize safety when near water, particularly by wearing life jackets, as this tragic event underscores the dangers that can occur unexpectedly.
