The Derry Cooperative School District has begun its budgeting process for 2014-15.
School District Business Manager Jane Simard gave the fall budget meeting schedule to School Board members and the public at the Sept. 24 meeting.
Simard said the Central Office Leadership Team has prepared a budget of fixed expenses. Site and program administrators, including principals, directors and coordinators, submitted their budgets Sept. 20. The Leadership Team and principals, directors and coordinators have been meeting over the past three weeks to review budget requests, she said.
The formal budget talks with the board, Leadership Team and Financial Advisory Committee will begin Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gilbert H. Hood Middle School library. The following budgets will be reviewed:
• Oct. 21, Buildings and Grounds;
• Monday, Nov. 4, individual schools and Assistant Superintendent;
• Wednesday, Nov. 13, Technology, Supplemental Student Services, PACE, ESOL, Library/media;
• Monday, Nov. 18, Special Education and Human Resources.
The board, administration and Finance Advisory Committee will meet Wednesdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18, to put the final touches on the proposed budget, which will be presented at a public hearing Jan. 21 and a deliberative session Feb. 8.
