Rudy Giuliani Pays $146M Defamation Judgment to Georgia Election Workers

Rudy Giuliani has reportedly fulfilled a judgment related to defamation charges stemming from his false accusations against two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Shaye Moss, after the 2020 presidential election.

The defamation lawsuit was settled in January, following a jury trial in December 2023, which resulted in a $148 million award, later reduced to $146 million by a judge.

This settlement, as indicated by the federal court filing on Monday, also includes interest and attorney fees.

The case is a significant example of the legal consequences following the spread of false claims regarding election fraud.
