Silver Spring’s Quarry House Tavern has been recognized among Washington, D.C.’s top dive bars by The Washington Post, securing the fourth spot on their list. This accolade highlights the tavern’s unique charm and appeal within the local community.
Alongside Quarry House Tavern, VFW Post 350 ‘Hell’s Bottom’ in Takoma Park also earned a spot, ranking 11th on the list, further showcasing Montgomery County’s diverse nightlife offerings.
In other local news, a recent report from the Montgomery County Office of the Inspector General revealed that several of the county’s 5,400 bus stops do not meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The report also criticized the Department of Transportation’s Transit Services Programs for mismanagement of funds.
