Pinkerton Academy swim coach Ed Faszewski saw both his boys’ and girls’ contingents sweep three opponents in a meet held at the Southern New Hampshire University pool in Manchester Saturday, Jan. 3.
The Astro males beat Portsmouth (115-44), Souhegan of Amherst (98-70), and Timberlane of Plaistow (136-24), and the Lady Astros were productive against Portsmouth (113-52), Souhegan (100-65), and Timberlane (107-63).
GIRLS
In the young ladies lanes (3-1 overall record) the team scored big points in a slew of events, with Hannah Terry taking first places in the 200-meter freestyle (time of 2 minutes, 24.11 seconds) and the 400-meter freestyle (5:02.67) and Nicole Beals proving unbeatable in the 200-meter individual medley (2:43.64) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:15.59).
Pinkerton also got an individual win from Sara Muller in the 100 free (1:09.69), and the skilled relay quartet of Beals, Elizabeth Preble, Jocelyn Hutchison, and Terry took top honors in both the 200 free relay (2:02.97) and the 400 free relay (4:31.27).
BOYS
The PA males moved to 4-1 on the campaign, thanks in part to event wins from Zach Denbow in the 200 individual medley (2:24.42) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:14.63) and Evan Boisse in the 400 free (5:10.57), and second-third-fourth sweeps in the 200 free (Jacob Rowell, John Scott, Tyler Boyle) and the 100-meter butterfly (Rowell, Mitch Williams, Steve Tewksbury).
Additionally, Addison Carder-Cannillo took second places behind Denbow in the 200 IM and the 100-meter breaststroke.
