Philadelphia-area Law Schools Shine in Latest U.S. News Rankings

In the recent release of U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of top law schools, Philadelphia shines with its notable presence, as highlighted by Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School continues to impress, securing the fourth spot on the prestigious list for the second consecutive year. Sharing this esteemed position with Duke University, Harvard University, and the University of Virginia law schools, Pennsylvania Law reaffirms its standing as a leader in legal education.

Joining the ranks of excellence are Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law and Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.

While Villanova claims the 48th spot, experiencing a slight dip from its 43rd ranking last year, Temple maintains its position at No. 54, mirroring its ranking from the previous year.

Drexel University’s Kline School of Law exhibits significant improvement, climbing from No. 80 last year to No. 75 this year, a testament to its commitment to academic excellence.

Additionally, three local law schools excel in specialty areas, further enhancing the region’s reputation for legal education.

Pennsylvania Law shines in business and corporate law, securing the fourth spot, fifth in contracts/commercial law, and seventh in criminal law. Temple University stands out in trial advocacy, clinching the first position, while Drexel secures the eighth spot.
