Oregon School District Demands Removal of Ted Cruz’s Controversial Ads Featuring Minor Girls

An Oregon school district has requested that Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign remove two ads that target transgender athletes.

The ads include a photograph of two minor girls who are not transgender, and their parents did not give permission for the image’s use. These ads are part of a larger media campaign criticizing Cruz’s opponent, Rep. Colin Allred, for his support of trans-inclusive policies.

The school district’s representative noted that they and the girls’ families were unaware of the ads until contacted by The Hill.

The representative expressed concern over the misleading implication that one of the girls is transgender and highlighted the inappropriate use of minors in political advertising without consent.

Cruz’s campaign has defended the ads, claiming they feature a female athlete who opposes transgender participation in women’s sports, although they did not directly address the school district’s request or the allegations of misleading content.

The article also mentions Cruz’s long-standing opposition to trans-inclusive policies and his efforts to introduce legislation restricting transgender women and girls from competing in female sports.

Current polls indicate a close race between Cruz and Allred for the Texas Senate seat, with predictions leaning toward Cruz’s reelection.
