Oregon Man Arrested by UConn Police for Harassing Emails About Student-Athletes

This news piece outlines the arrest of Robert Cole Parmalee, an Oregon resident, by the University of Connecticut Police. Parmalee had been harassing UConn by sending multiple emails about specific student-athletes, although he had no connection to the university. After receiving these emails in June, UConn authorities determined that, initially, the content didn’t meet the threshold for criminal conduct.

However, Oregon and UConn police stayed in contact, monitoring Parmalee’s actions. On August 27, Connecticut State Police arrested him in Windsor Locks under an unrelated Oregon warrant. Later, Oregon authorities dismissed those charges, but UConn Police executed their own warrant, leading to Parmalee’s arrest. He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond and will appear in Rockville Superior Court.
