Operation Ghost Busted: Final Sentences in Southern Georgia’s Largest Drug Trafficking Case

The final chapter in the largest drug trafficking prosecution in the history of the Southern District of Georgia has closed with the sentencing of the last two defendants from USA v. Alvarez et al., known as “Operation: Ghost Busted.” The multi-agency operation involved the FBI, GBI, and local authorities from Glynn, Camden, Pierce, and Ware Counties.

Final Sentences:

  • Blake Screen, 36, of Brunswick, was sentenced to 100 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. Screen was convicted at trial five months ago.
  • David Young, known as “Khaos,” received a 235-month prison sentence after pleading guilty. Young, a fugitive for over a year, was captured in Mexico in March 2024 after being featured on America’s Most Wanted.

Both defendants will face three years of supervised release following their prison terms.

Operation Impact:
The two-year investigation, which began with indictments in December 2022, resulted in the convictions of 76 defendants on over 250 felony charges, linking the drug operation to multiple overdose deaths. According to Acting U.S. Attorney Lyons, the convictions significantly enhance community safety, crediting law enforcement for their diligent efforts.

The operation exposed the involvement of notorious gangs, including the Ghost Face Gangsters, Aryan Brotherhood, Bloods, and Gangster Disciples, who coordinated the drug conspiracy.

This conclusion marks a major victory in combating organized crime and drug distribution in Southern Georgia.
