Ohio vs. Indiana Governors Make Friendly Wager on College Football Playoff National Championship

As the College Football Playoff National Championship approaches, political rivals from Ohio and Indiana are embracing a long-standing tradition: a friendly wager tied to the outcome of the big game.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Indiana Governor Mike Braun are staking local treats on the clash between their respective teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

In a show of confidence, Governor DeWine has selected Ohio’s beloved Buckeye candies from Marsha’s Homemade Buckeyes in Perrysburg as the Buckeye State’s stake.

I’m confident the Ohio State Buckeyes will defeat Notre Dame and claim the national title,” DeWine remarked.

On the other hand, Governor Braun is betting on the Fighting Irish, representing Indiana’s pride with a selection of sweet treats from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are ready to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes and claim the National Championship,” Braun said.

The championship game is set for January 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with kick-off at 7:30 p.m. ESPN will broadcast the showdown, as fans across the country tune in to see whether the Buckeyes will secure another victory or if the Fighting Irish will claim their first national title in over three decades.

This lighthearted wager is a reminder of the spirited competition and pride that college football fosters, both on and off the field.
