New PA Sophomore Grid Squad Won and Developed Talent

One of the key goals of the Pinkerton Academy sophomore football squad this fall was to give some young gridders more field time, which could both help them hone their skills and give them a greater understanding of the way the PA football program finds success season after season.

The team was started and the plan developed by Pinkerton athletic director Tim Powers, who coached the new contingent to a 3-2 record in its inaugural season and considerable success in a number of areas.

“Our best performances came in a 34-23 win at Londonderry on Sept. 23 and a 7-6 win at Whittier Tech (in Haverhill, Mass.) on Oct. 7,” said Powers.

The squad’s roster included Tyrance Hicks (quarterback/cornerback); Jadyn Ruimwijk (split end/defensive back); Austin Penland (SE/DB); Terrell Hicks (fullback/cornerback); Mark Hayward (SE/DB); Joshua Ladipo (SE/DB); Alexander Smith (SE/CB), Kaycee Scheibert (running back/ DB); Travis Briggs (SE/ DB); Tyler Behsman (SE/ DB); Dylan Lacasse (FB/linebacker); John Robinson (SE/DB); Jared Valentine (FB/CB); Colin Mafera (lineman); Jared Collins (guard/LB); Jacob Bourassa (lineman); Brandon Watts (lineman), Drew Raposa (G/LB), and Scott Loeffler (lineman).
