With just 10 days left until his inauguration, Delaware Gov.-elect Matt Meyer began a series of events to engage with the community and highlight his administration’s priorities.
The first event took place in Dover, where Meyer visited the Delaware State University campus, speaking to senior members of the Delaware National Guard about teamwork, community, and supporting the state’s military families. He emphasized the importance of the National Guard as a key strength of Delaware.
Following his remarks, Meyer toured downtown Dover, starting at Janaid’s Salon for Men and visiting other small businesses like Key to Life Juice Bar and Agapé Body Piercings. He shared his experience as a small business owner and expressed his commitment to supporting the local economy and fostering growth in Delaware’s capital city.
In addition to his inaugural events, Meyer is planning several public service activities leading up to his inauguration.
These include donation drives for local organizations, community service projects, and an inaugural bike ride at Cape Henlopen State Park. He will also participate in an interfaith breakfast and a brunch hosted by his wife, Lauren Meyer, in Dewey Beach.
Meyer’s inauguration will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 21, with the swearing-in ceremony open to the public, though tickets are required.
His inauguration marks the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at supporting Delaware’s community and advancing the state’s growth.
