A Kansas City man, Marquise L. North, has been arrested in connection with a series of armed robberies across Kansas and Missouri over the summer.
According to documents filed with the Jackson County Circuit Court, North, 30, was charged following a robbery at a Dollar General on September 21.
The cashier reported that North pointed a handgun at her after approaching the register with a blanket and demanded cash.
Authorities were able to track North using a GPS device hidden in the cash drawer, which led to a high-speed chase.
North attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after stop sticks disabled his vehicle. Surveillance footage linked him to other robberies, though North denies the charges.
He faces two counts of first-degree robbery and remains in custody on a $50,000 bond, with a bond review hearing set for October 1 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 23.
