Man Killed in PA Turnpike Road Rage Shooting; Suspect Found Dead

A shocking road rage incident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike has left one man dead. The incident occurred on May 31 at mile marker 291.3 in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, when a 40-year-old man from Royersford was shot by a 59-year-old man from North Dinwiddie, Virginia.

According to state police, the shooter, who was driving a white tractor trailer, fired shots at the victim and then sped off. The victim was taken to Reading Hospital, where he died on Monday, June 3.

The investigation led authorities to track the tractor trailer to a shopping complex in Caernarvon Township, Berks County, about 13 miles from the scene of the shooting. The suspect was found dead inside the cab, having apparently shot himself.

Police are still investigating the incident and are seeking any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity on the Turnpike eastbound near Reading on May 31 between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. Anyone with information is urged to call the Pennsylvania State Police’s Lancaster Station at 717-299-7650.
