A Derry man is in Rockingham County House of Correction awaiting his probable cause hearing after Derry police discovered hundreds of pornographic images of children on his laptop.
David Bruce Morel Jr., 29, of 39 Pingree Hill Road was arrested April 28 after an investigation, according to Derry Police Capt. Vern Thomas.
Thomas said the department was acting on information it received from the Internet Crimes Vs. Children Task Force, of which the department is a member. They received information from the Task Force and also conducted their own investigation, according to Thomas.
Morel’s laptop produced nearly 976 images and 222 videos of child pornography, depicting both boys and girls under the age of 15, Thomas said.
Morel was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.
He was taken to the House of Correction, from which he was arraigned by video April 29. His probable cause hearing is May 8 in Derry District Court.
