A man identified as David Smith, 45, was arrested on Wednesday after being on the run since August 2023 for violating probation in both Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Smith had previously pled guilty to gun and drug charges in February 2023, leading to the probation violation in Pittsburgh.
Authorities revealed that Smith also had an outstanding bench warrant in Delaware for an unrelated probation violation.
Smith had been residing in Delaware but was staying at a residence on Sorento Street in Allegheny County when he was apprehended.
Upon arrival, deputies were allowed inside by a woman who claimed ignorance of Smith’s whereabouts.
However, after searching the home, officers found Smith hiding in the attic. During the arrest, Smith fell through the ceiling and was promptly taken into custody.
He is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
