A Canadian man, Naseeb Chisty, has been charged with felony drug-related offenses after Indiana State Police reportedly discovered more than 250 pounds of cocaine in his semi-truck during a major drug bust on I-94 in Porter County, Indiana.
The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday when Chisty was pulled over for a motor carrier violation at the eastbound I-94 weigh station, just east of State Road 49.
During the stop, a police K9 conducted a free air test and alerted authorities to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.
A subsequent search led to the discovery of approximately 123.9 kilograms 273 pounds of a white substance that tested positive for cocaine. Chisty, 49, was arrested and charged with two felonies: dealing and possession of cocaine.
He is currently being held in the Porter County Jail.
