As the 2021 Holiday Season approaches local communities have scheduled their different community events.
In Derry they will be hosting the “Very Derry Holiday Celebration” On Nov. 27 Derry which will consist of a number of different events.
Starting at 10 a.m. and going until 1 p.m. with the live Holiday Entertainment at the Wandering Stage. The event will be taking place at Benson’s Lawn which is located at 1 West Broadway. The event is being sponsored by the Greater Derry Arts Council & Derry Economic Development.
From 1 to 2:30 p.m. there will be the Nutfield Parade which will go from Veteran’s Hall to Crystal Avenue to Hood Commons. The event is being sponsored by the Derry Village Rotary Club and the Greater Derry/ Londonderry Chamber of Commerce.
Starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 5 p.m. there will be holiday cards and photos with Santa at Veterans Hall which is being sponsored by the Town of Derry Parks and Recreation Department.
At the same time there will be live Holiday Entertainment at the Wandering Stage at Benson’s Lawn. The event is being sponsored by the Greater Derry Arts Council and Miss Greater Derry.
From 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. will be the tree lighting, with a cocoa gathering at 4:30 p.m. and the lighting taking place at 5:15 p.m. It is going to take place at Pocket Park and is sponsored by the Town of Derry.
In addition throughout the day will be Small Business Saturday- Red Ticket Raffle, where people can shop around town. For more information about the raffle visit www.derrynh.org. The event is sponsored by the Derry Economic Development.
The Derry Village Rotary Club Food Drive will also be taking place. Non-perishable food and cash donations will be collected ahead of the parade along the route and at the Wandering Stage downtown.
The Hampstead Lions Club will be hosting its second mobile Christmas parade on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m.
Vehicles are required to line up at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Anne Parish.Those interested in showcasing a float or a vehicle, should go to the Hampstead Christmas Parade Facebook page and submit your information to the google doc.
