Rep. Addison McDowell R-N.C. and other GOP lawmakers introduced a bill to rename Dulles International Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport, a move reflecting the influence of President Trump’s leadership in their view.
The proposed legislation aims to honor Trump’s contributions, with McDowell asserting that his presidency helped usher in a golden age for America. The bill has backing from other Republicans, including Reps.
Guy Reschanthaler, Brian Jack, Riley Morre, and Brandon Gill. This follows a similar bill introduced in the previous Congress, which highlighted Trump’s role and legacy.
Dulles International Airport, named after John Foster Dulles, a former Secretary of State during the Eisenhower administration, is located in Virginia near Washington, D.C. If the bill passes, it would be a significant shift in how the airport is viewed and aligned with the Trump administration’s impact on American politics.
