ATLANTA — Lindsay Shiver, a former beauty queen and Georgia mother, is facing allegations of being involved in a murder-for-hire plot against her estranged husband. Recently, she reported domestic abuse by her new boyfriend, according to court records.
Dorsey Ryan Love, 35, from Ashford, Alabama, has been charged with strangulation, as reported by WTVY-TV. The charges relate to an incident on July 31, when Love allegedly choked Shiver six days earlier.
In her request for a protective order, Shiver stated that Love pushed her onto a bed, choked her, tried to suffocate her with a pillow, and threatened to kill both her and a TV station reporter. This incident occurred at a home in Dothan, Alabama. Shiver also mentioned that Love had previously abused her during an out-of-state trip, but she did not report that incident to the authorities.
Love has been indicted on three charges this year, including identity theft.
Shiver is also dealing with serious legal issues. Prosecutors allege that Shiver, her alleged lover Terrance Bethel, and another man, Faron Newbold, conspired to kill her husband, Robert Shiver. The Shivers had filed for divorce months before the alleged plot was uncovered.
If convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold could face up to 60 years in prison. Shiver has been allowed to return to the United States since her arrest.
Robert Shiver is now dating reality TV star and podcaster Savannah Chrisley, whose parents are currently in federal prison on fraud charges.
Lindsay and Robert Shiver met at Auburn University, where Robert played football. The couple lived in Thomasville and had a home in the Bahamas before filing for divorce. Lindsay Shiver is currently awaiting her trial in the Bahamas.
