A 24-year-old man from Gary, Indiana, was arrested Monday night after leading police on a high-speed chase on Interstate 80.
Around 10:45 p.m., an Indiana State Trooper saw a black Ford Bronco speeding east near the Illinois state line.
The driver, identified as Lyndell Graham Jr., was reportedly going over 100 mph. When the officer tried to pull him over, Graham sped away, even turning off his headlights while still driving at dangerously high speeds.
The chase ended when the Bronco exited at Broadway, headed north, and crashed near Connecticut Street. Graham ran from the scene, dropping a handgun as he fled.
The trooper chased him and used a taser to stop him. Graham was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail.
As a convicted felon, Graham is not allowed to have a gun. He now faces several charges, including illegal possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and other offenses.
