New Hampshire students from kindergarten through college may visit Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), thanks to the generosity of a New Hampshire businessman and his family. P. Andrews “Andy” Mc Lane and his wife, Linda Harper McLane, have endowed in perpetuity a membership at the Museum for all public, private, home schooled and college students in New Hampshire.
The endowment allows free admission to the Museum and its special exhibits, including the current “Art of the White Mountains.” Andy McLane is a Littleton native who grew up in Manchester and received degrees from Phillips Exeter Academy and Dartmouth College. Derry Superintendent of Schools Laura Nelson also reminded area residents at the Tuesday, Feb. 12, school board meeting that Comcast is offering an Internet connection for $9.95 per month and a computer for $149 for families of students on the free or reduced price lunch program.
The service and computer are available for homes in Comcast service areas, with at least one child receiving free or reduced price school lunches, who have not subscribed to Comcast in 90 days, and who do not have overdue Comcast bills or unreturned equipment.
