Florida Teenager Killed in Hit-and-Run Boat Crash: Authorities Seek Information

Officials in Florida are requesting assistance in gathering details about a devastating boat collision that resulted in the loss of a young girl’s life as she was enjoying waterskiing during the Mother’s Day weekend.

According to WSVN, Ella Adler, a 15-year-old, was waterskiing near Nixon Beach in Key Biscayne when the incident took place on Saturday at around 4:30 p.m.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) reported that the boat involved in the collision left the scene, resulting in Adler’s tragic demise.

The FWC is seeking information from witnesses about the incident involving a boat described as a centre console with a light blue hull and multiple white outboard motors.

Following the unfortunate incident, Crime Stoppers Miami and Florida Keys have announced a reward of $5,000. This reward will be given to anyone who provides information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the crime.

As per an obituary found on Legacy.com, Adler was a student at Ransom Everglades High School, actively participating in the school’s dance team and theatrical productions.

The obituary depicted Adler as a devoted and empathetic person who championed fairness and expressed her thoughts with kindness and elegance. Her pride in her Jewish heritage was evident, as she emphasised her family’s legacy of leadership and unwavering commitment to faith.

Adler’s family had a strong connection to diplomacy, with her grandfather, Michael Adler, holding the prestigious position of U.S. ambassador to Belgium.

Adler received an outpouring of heartfelt tributes, as her aunt shared her profound admiration for Adler’s grace, determination, and radiant spirit. She spoke highly of Adler, saying that she was the brightest light in their family and was adored by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The FWC is urging individuals who may have information or video footage of the crash to reach out to the Wildlife Alert Hotline or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. They are emphasising the significance of community assistance in resolving this tragic incident.
