Evacuation Orders Expanded as Blue 2 Fire Threatens Ruidoso

The Blue 2 Fire, encroaching upon Ruidoso, New Mexico, has prompted additional evacuation orders as it engulfs approximately 3,300 acres of land.

Numerous areas have been mandated to evacuate:

– Evacuated zones include Bonito Lake, Forest Road 127A, Forest 107, and 108, alongside Nogal Canyon Road, Villa Madonna, and Loma Grande Subdivision.

– Residents residing along Highway 127A are also in the process of evacuating.

Set Status

Several regions are on SET status, advising residents to be prepared for potential evacuation. These encompass Ranchman’s Camp, Magado’s Creek Subdivisions, Sun Valley, Eagle Creek Sports Complex, Angus, Ski Run, Alto Area, Eagle Creek, and Sierra Vista.

Ready Status

The Enchanted Loop Community and its surrounding areas are on READY status, including High Sierra Estates, Copper Canyon, Copper Ridge Canaan Trail, Western Sonterra Subdivisions east of 48, and areas north and south of 37.

Evacuation Shelter

Updates on evacuations are being disseminated by the Lincoln County Fire Service. The fire’s inception is traced back to a lightning strike on Friday, May 17th.
