Dr. Amy Starzecki, Superintendent of Superior School District, has been named the 2024 Wisconsin Superintendent of the Year by the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators WASDA. With over two decades of experience in educational leadership across districts of all sizes, Dr. Starzecki is celebrated for her efforts in improving graduation rates and enhancing student achievement in Superior.
The Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators commended her for a collaborative approach that has strengthened ties between students, families, staff, and community organizations, recognizing her commitment to supporting all student populations.
Dr. Starzecki’s academic credentials include a doctorate and bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, and a master’s degree in school psychology from Northern Arizona University. She holds multiple licenses, including school psychologist, special education director, K-12 principal, and superintendent, and is an adjunct professor, teaching graduate courses for future administrators.
In response to the honor, Dr. Starzecki stated, I am truly honored to receive this recognition. This is a result of the work of our amazing educators and students in the School District of Superior.
Each day, it is a privilege to serve such an incredible community, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together these last seven years.
