Derry Scout Helps Bring Light to Hundreds of Veterans

Dylan Navarro, a Senior Patrol Youth Leader with Troop 98 in Derry his working on an Eagle Scout Project at the Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry that will help recognize hundreds of veterans that have had their graves markers covered up by grass over the years.
Navarro, with the help of fellow scouts and volunteers unearthed hundreds of markers in two very long days of work over the past month.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1617 has been supporting his efforts and have supplied him with an expensive solvent used to aid in the restoration of these markers.
On Sunday, Nov. 14, he and his dad, Jaimie Navarro, and his brother Cooper spent the entire day tagging as many markers as could find and then cleaning each of them.
Their efforts will help members of Post 1617 finds graves that need to be marked with flags each Memorial Day. Photos by Chris Paul
