A man from Delaware lost his wallet at a gas station, but it was returned by a kind stranger. Now, he finally got to thank him in person.
The story began when Luke Crossan was running errands and stopped at a Sunoco gas station in Newark. After leaving, he realized his wallet was missing. He searched his truck but couldn’t find it. That’s when he remembered the last time he had it.
While panicking, Crossan received an alert from his Ring doorbell. When he checked the camera, he saw a man on his porch holding the wallet.
The man said through the Ring doorbell, I was behind you at the gas station and saw you drop your wallet.
Without hesitation, the man, who was far from Crossan’s home, brought the wallet to his house. He placed it behind the welcome mat, adding, “I’m glad I was able to return it. Losing this would have ruined my day.
Crossan was deeply thankful, saying, He went out of his way to return my wallet with everything inside. I can’t thank him enough.
Though Crossan briefly flagged the man down later to thank him, their meeting was short. Wanting to learn more about him, Crossan turned to Facebook and posted about the stranger in hopes of finding him.
NBC10 aired the story, and that’s how Bryan B-Ball Anderson, from Newark, found out people were looking for him. Anderson, originally from Philadelphia, does community work and owns several Airbnb properties.
This week, Crossan and Anderson reunited, and Crossan even kept his kids home from school to meet the man who returned the wallet.
You didn’t just return my wallet; you showed what everyone should be like, Crossan told Anderson.
Now, the two share a great story and a new friendship. Crossan summed it up, Good people exist. Despite the hate and division, there’s more good than bad in the world.
