This week, nearly 30 volunteer fire departments in Virginia received grants to help with their community safety efforts.
Columbia Gas of Virginia announced that 13 fire departments in the Piedmont region each received about $1,500. Jennifer Montague, President and COO of Columbia Gas of Virginia, said, “We have a long history of supporting local volunteer fire departments. They play a crucial role in natural gas safety and emergency response. We’re proud to support their dedication and build stronger relationships with them.”
These grants were provided by the NiSource Charitable Foundation, part of Columbia Gas’s parent company. Each year, Columbia Gas of Virginia donates over $400,000 to charitable organizations that help meet basic needs, including local food banks, relief agencies, and emergency responders.
