Celebrating Excellence: FOX 11’s Golden Apple Awards Honor Top Educators

Looking back at the positive moments from last year reminds us of life’s balance and gives us hope for the future. FOX 11 has made it a tradition to celebrate great achievements in education with its Golden Apple Awards.

At Hemlock Creek Elementary School, teacher Carly Shier, one of this year’s winners, shared her passion:
“I want to make sure we practice with our magic e-wands today,” she said, reflecting her enthusiasm for teaching.

Another winner, Clayton Vader from Preble High School, said, “Teaching gives me a purpose—something I truly love and care about.”

This year, FOX 11 honored eight exceptional educators who go the extra mile for their students. Andrea Huggett, a teacher at Edison Middle School, added:
“My students might roll their eyes at me dressing up to make math fun, but I know they’ll remember me for it.”

In May, FOX 11 turned the spotlight on students with its annual “Best of Class” event, celebrating graduates at Lambeau Field.

Giving Back to the Community

The FOX 11 Food Drive was another major success last year. Viewers generously donated to stock shelves in food pantries across Green Bay, Manitowoc, Menasha, and Oshkosh.
“People are so grateful,” said Jim Boehm.

The drive collected over 29,000 pounds of food, supplies, and money—an incredible show of community support!
