Bernie Moreno Backs Trump’s Controversial Cabinet Picks, Stresses Mandate from Electoral Victory

In a recent interview with Spectrum News Ohio and WBNS, Ohio Senator-elect Bernie Moreno expressed strong support for President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks, despite controversy surrounding several nominees.

Moreno emphasized that Trump’s electoral victory, including a win in all seven swing states, provided him with a mandate to choose his team. He made clear that he would vote to confirm all of Trump’s picks, including those facing scrutiny.

Moreno defended Trump’s controversial nominees, such as Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services. Hegseth, a Fox News host, has been accused of sexual assault and criticized for his views on women in the military.

Moreno dismissed the allegations against Hegseth, arguing that accusations alone were not enough to deny confirmation, especially when the allegations had been investigated and found unsubstantiated.

Regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been criticized for his anti-vaccine stance, Moreno argued that his role would be to implement Trump’s agenda, focusing on reforming government agencies and improving healthcare delivery at lower costs.

Moreno also voiced his support for Trump’s replacement nominee for Attorney General, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, praising her toughness and effectiveness against criminals.

He suggested that Bondi would gain unanimous support from Republicans and possibly even some Democrat votes.

Despite criticism from some quarters, Moreno remained confident in Trump’s cabinet picks and reiterated the importance of confirming them quickly to allow the president to govern with his chosen team.
