A 7-year-old girl was found safe after being missing for 12 hours. She had wandered away from her family’s campsite.
Shelby Wolff was camping with her grandparents at Lake Merwin in Washington state when she went missing around 8:30 p.m.
Authorities were alerted right away, and deputies, along with volunteers, searched throughout the night. Early the next morning, someone heard Shelby crying and called 911.
Deputies found Shelby on a steep hill covered with thick plants and sharp rocks. Rescuers climbed up on their hands and knees to reach her, reassuring her she was safe. She was taken by boat to reunite with her family.
Her older sister shared a video thanking everyone for their support and prayers during the search.
