46th Precinct Foils Robbery Attempt at Fordham Heights Jewelry Store

Police officers from the 46th Precinct were on their usual patrol in Fordham Heights when they intervened as two individuals tried to rob a jewelry and phone store last month. Despite their efforts, the suspects managed to escape capture.

The incident occurred at Abbasi Jewelers and KAF Wireless phone store, both situated at 344 East Fordham Road by Marion Avenue, around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, as per police officials.

The two perpetrators unlawfully entered the businesses through the basement, making off with $10,000 worth of jewelry. However, during the theft, they dropped bags containing the stolen items and successfully fled from the scene, eluding the pursuing officers.

Later that day, Norwood News witnessed the NYPD’s crime scene unit collecting the stolen merchandise for evidential purposes.

As of Wednesday, April 3, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and detectives are actively pursuing leads in their investigation.
