After a six-month fight by Town Council members to reduce the tax rate, Derry property owners will see a 19-cent drop in their tax rate for 2015. The town released its 2015 tax rate after the rate was set by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (DRA).
Superior Court Judge David Anderson has ruled in favor of three Derry residents taking the Town Council to court, and residents will be allowed to vote on several controversial budget cuts by the end of this month.. The residents, Brian Chirichiello, Neil Wetherbee and Jenna Paradis, challenged the majority of the Council’s decision July 28
The Derry Police Department is reminding residents to lock their cars, especially in their own yards. Derry Police Capt. Vern Thomas warned residents last week of several thefts from vehicles. Since July 26, he said, police have received complaints of more than 30 cars being entered.
