Have you ever walked around town and envisioned a kind of business that is not there now, but should be? Perhaps your idea is a good one but something that has never been considered before. Town leaders want to know what you think.
Town Planning Assistant Elizabeth Robidoux is trying to learn more about what the community wants to see in some targeted areas in the downtown area. She recently put up a poster in the lobby of the Municipal Center with six downtown areas featured. Some are vacant right now while others are not. They were chosen at random on a recent walk she took downtown.
“It is important that the community have a voice in saying what they want to see.” says Robidoux.
The planning board will soon take a comprehensive look at zoning ordinances and Robidoux saw this time as a good opportunity to coordinate with those upcoming efforts. Additionally, this is a busy month at The Municipal Center with a lot of foot traffic and people coming in who can participate in this survey.
Residents can participate by filling out comment cards in the lobby of the Municipal Center or by commenting on the Town of Derry Economic Development Facebook page.
