The Pinkerton Academy Board of Trustees will soon be adding two new members to its ranks as Dr. Scott Copeland has been elected as a new trustee to represent the town of Derry, while Adam Mead was elected to serve as Treasurer of the Board.
According to a recent press release from the school, Dr. Copeland “brings to the Board more than 30 years of experience in Derry as a private orthodontist.” Copeland was born in Corning, NY and graduated from Bates College and SUNY Buffalo, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the former and both a Doctor of Dental Surgery and Masters of Science in Orthodontics from the latter.
Copeland has also served with the Derry Rotary Club for three decades, is a member of the New Hampshire Association of Orthodontists and is on the Board of Directors for the Derry Boys and Girls Club. All four of his children four are currently attending Pinkerton Academy.
As for Mead, he is noted for being the assistant vice president and commercial loan officer at Pentucket Bank in Salem, New Hampshire, as well as the founder of Mead Capital Management, LLC, an investment management business. Mead graduated from Pinkerton Academy back in 2004 before earning both a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University.
Known for being an active member of the Derry community, Mead serves on several boards for groups such as the Derry Rotary Club, the Derry Boys and Girls Club, the Center for Life Management and the Pinkerton Academy Alumni Executive Board.
The Board of Trustees is comprised of eighteen unpaid members, with each sending town connected to Pinkerton Academy required to have at least one trustee to represent it. The trustees serve to govern the school, as well as direct the Headmaster while he or she handles the school’s operations.
